This blog is published by me - Andrew Evans. Things about me that might help you to make sense of my blog include:
I'm a Christian. People tend to want to ask "what sort of Christian?"after you say that. There are some labels you could use (evangelical, reformed, non-conformist) but mostly I'm a Christian who believes that through Jesus God gives us grace for forgiveness and a life lived for him and other people and that we know about this through the Bible.
I'm a pastor - of Christ Church Liverpool. The church was started in 2003 by a group of about 15 people and I've been privileged to be one of its leaders from the very start.
I'm a husband (to Gaynor) and a dad (to Rosie and Tom).
I'm come from a home where I was encouraged to be interested in the world around me in as many ways as possible - history, politics, economics, literature, performing arts and music, science and technology and almost anything else you can think of. This makes me a bit of magpir - in a good way I hope so there's bits and pieces of all sorts on my blog. It's not expert - but I hope it's not dull.
Politically I think that good government is a great blessing and that, mostly, that's what we have had in the UK for well over 100 years. On the whole the best bits of it do the most essential things and let people get on with their own lives as much as possible without telling them what to do. That makes me a 'liberal' in the classic sense of that word.
